The Program in Recreation and Sport Management is designed to prepare candidates for a variety of career opportunities in the field of recreation and sport management, in private, non-profit and educational settings. It is part of the University of Arkansas Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation.
The undergraduate program in Recreation and Sport Management prepares students for a variety of career opportunities with separate tracks in recreation administration and sport administration. Students also are prepared to pursue graduate studies.
Students can prepare for a career as an outdoor professional through an Outdoor Leadership minor. Students in the minor can earn professional certifications, gain a variety of skills through field-based experiences and hone their leadership competencies.
The Master of Education program in recreation and sport management focuses on college athletics and is designed to prepare students for administrative positions. Students collaborate with faculty in theory, research and field-based experiences.
The Ph.D. program in Health, Sport and Exercise Science, with a Concentration in Recreation and Sport Management, prepares students to become teachers, researchers and leaders in recreation, sport management and leisure.
