For acceptance into the undergraduate program in Recreation and Sport Management, applicants must meet the general admission requirements of the University of Arkansas.
For acceptance to the master's degree program, the program area requires, in addition to the general requirements for admission to the Graduate School, an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.00 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work (excluding student teaching), or cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. NOTE: All applicants must submit a GRE score for admission consideration. Priority deadline dates for admission consideration are March 1 for Fall, November 1 for Spring, and March 1 for Summer. Priority consideration for graduate assistantship positions is Jan. 15.
For acceptance to the Ed.D. in the Recreation and Sport Management Program, the applicant must have completed a master's degree or its equivalent in recreation or a closely related field and meet general admission requirements of the UA Graduate School. An application identifying applicant objectives and supportive background information, including three letters of recommendation supporting the applicant's ability to successfully pursue an Ed.D. in Recreation and Sport Management, a GPA of at least 3.00 on all graduate course work, an acceptable score on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), statement of interest, and a curriculum vitae is required. Furthermore, before program admission is granted, a faculty member must agree to serve as mentor. It is the applicant's responsibilty to identify and secure a faculty mentor. Faculty mentor and mentee should have similar research interests. Additional prerequisites may be prescribed after review of application materials.
